Pictures from me

Pictures made by me. Note: Wristbraces are not allowed in Germany, and the pictures of them were taken outside Germany.

slingshot slingshot
This is a heavily modified Barnett strikenine. Both wristbrace and rubber leather pouch are selfmade.

This is a homemade slingshot with wristbrace. It can fold down to a very compact size. The rubber tubes are attached with flat electric wire. I would definitely choose some other type of rubber and pouch attachement today...
slingshot This simple mechanism keeps the wristbrace in position when unfolded.

slingshot
A simple natural fork with tubular bands.

I made this slingshot from beech wood. I sawed it out, grinded off the edges and attached the rubber by the "nail in the hole"- method. It looks nice, but the shape is everything but ergonomic! I would also choose a different attachment method today...

slingshot
I made this slingshot from plum wood. The bands are made from Theraband.

slingshot
A cheap plastic slingshot. It shoots better than it looks :-) this no-name slingshot is sold everywhere in Europe. It is actually a scaled-down copy of the famous Victor 20 slingshot

slingshot
I obtained this wooden slingshot in Portugal. It has bands from natural rubber. It looks nice, but somehow, I can not shoot precisely with it. the round handle makes me hold it inconsistent. I know that this slingshot is made in Thailand, like most of the carved slinghsots available all over the world. Note the almost-square rubber, it is typical for slingshots from Thailand. It is originally used to tie spurs to the feet of fighting cocks.

This slingshot was created with Mr. and Mrs Herriman's Shooting Stars in mind. It does also use the shoot-over-design that reduces the stress which is set on the bands when shooting. The rubber bands go through a hole. Then, a nail is put through the hole, squeezing the rubber. Not that I got the angle of the wristbrace wrong, which resulted in an almost unshootable slingshot.

This slingshot was made with the famous Falcon series in mind. It is made of 6mm steel and a grip made of wood. The flat rubber bands are tapered and are attached on little rotating plastic pieces made of a ball point pen. This works very well, and I spent a lot of time shooting that slingshot. The combination of flat bands and a well-fitting hande / brace gave me finally a selfmade slingshot I was really happy with.

slingshot

A classic slingshot with dual tapered latex bands. The frame is "Spain style", the fork is made to be supported by hands. The bands are connected via strong strings to allow them to move forward freely, increasing accuracy and band life.
