The Milligan special

The Milligan special was produced in the 50'was designed by John "Slingshot" Milligan in Detroit, a good shooter himself. The slingshot was avaliable in two sizes. They were made of cast aluminium alloy. The bands, consisting of pure gum rubber and a leather pouch, were attached via the "matchstick method". The frame was polished and had beautiful grooves for better grip.

The Milligan special was a very good slingshot, especially for its early period. It was powerful enough for hunting and was used in several tournaments. The shape remembers of today's Spain slingshots.
